INRAE, the national research institute for agriculture, food and the environment, was created on January 1, 2020 from the merger of INRA and Irstea. It is the world's leading research organization specializing in these three fields, and is committed to meeting the challenges facing them by proposing new directions for sustainable transformation of agriculture, food and the environment through research, innovation and support for public policies.

The institute is strongly involved in the publication of academic scientific journals and transfer in these different areas of research. Today, INRAE publishes or co-edits ten scientific journals with international visibility supported by the Institute's research departments, and whose editorial offices are based in research units.

Other technical or transfer journals, all published in French, are aimed at a wider audience. Their objective is the transfer of knowledge and innovations to public and private players in society.
