Abstract
A new chapter regarding the jewish population settled in Lyon at the end of the modern age, was opened by the preventive archaeological survey and excavation conducted at Hôtel-Dieu, in the areas presumed of community cemeteries. This has allowed not only the study of the emergence of this urban diaspora, but also the research and management of the burial ground reserved to this religious community.
Le dossier relatif à la population juive, qui s’installe à Lyon à la fin de l’époque moderne, a été ouvert à l’occasion des opérations d’archéologie préventive menées à l’Hôtel-Dieu, à l’emplacement présumé des cimetières communautaires. Il permet d’étudier l’émergence de cette diaspora urbaine mais aussi la recherche et la gestion d’un lieu d’inhumation réservé à cette communauté confessionnelle.
